So the Nicaragua thing is a bit of a long story, but I was there from the 11th to the 29th of June working with a friend of mine on a project involving testing water filters and setting up some followup and monitoring work on filters that were already distributed. Here are some links to get an idea of the folks I am working with down there:
- Potters for Peace -- a really fabulous fair trade organization, though I am connecting with them primary around their work on this filter design which has been used in about 14 developing countries so far, with pretty impressive results.
- MoviMondo -- Italian-based humanitarian aid organization, has done a lot of work in San Francisco Libre, the area I was in.
